Tadhg's 4th birthday celebration - part 2

On Friday, Tadhg's 4th birthday celebrations continued as his Canadian family came over to his house to celebrate. Tadhg's birthday theme was superheroes so he had a big, blue, batman birthday cake with candles to blow out.
Tadhg loved his cake, especially the batman and batbike that came with it!
After cake and food it was time for more present opening. Tadhg's cousins helped him open all of his presents before everyone got dressed up as superheroes and raced around the basement. It was another happy to bed night for Tadhg.

He had a special birthday day at school where the kids sang Happy Birthday to him and he got to wear the birthday hat. When he came home from school, mom and dad surprised him by decorating the house for his birthday with balloons and streamers. There were also lots of presents waiting for him. Tadhg was very excited and didn't know which present to open first!
After some cake and presents, Tadhg, Sadhbh, mom and dad went to Tadhg's favourite restaurant, Montana's, for dinner. Tadhg got to wear the special Montana's birthday antler hat while all the staff sang Happy Birthday to him. It was a special day and Tadhg went to bed happy. Sadhbh settles into her new routine

Now that Tadhg is in school every morning, Sadhbh has a new routine with mom. Dad takes Tadhg to school every morning at 8:30 leaving Sadhbh and mom to spend the morning together until Tadhg finishes school at 11:30. Mom really values having some quiet time to spend with Sadhbh as it can get a little crazy with two kids demanding your time!

Tadhg's first day at school!

Labour day officially marks the end of Summer in Canada and the first Tuesday after Labour day is the first day of school. This Tuesday marked Tadhg's first day of school!! Tadhg had been somewhat excited about going to the big school (St Ann's), especially after a visit to the school the previous week to meet his new teacher and see his classroom. Tadhg and dad had a normal breakfast together but when it got closer to school time, Tadhg got a bit nervous excited. Mom and dad were too! Tadhg looked like a real little schoolboy as he put his school bag on and ran out of the house. Everyone (Tadhg, Sadhbh, mom and dad) piled into the car for the first school run.

He was a bit more nervous than excited when he arrived at the scool. The teachers were lined up outside the school entrance and there was a real party feel for the first day of school. Tadhg got caught up in the spirit and went into the kindergarten area.
Mom and dad helped him get ready and after a brief hesitation he was invited into the class by his new teacher, Mrs. Lorenzi, to play in the sandbox and meet the other boys and girls. Mom and dad tried to peek in without being seen and had to stay for the national anthem and the morning prayer. Mom and dad can't wait to hear how his first day went!

Tadhg and Sadhbh say bye-bye Nase

Monday was Labour day in Canada which was also D-day for Nase. She is a beautiful dog and great around adults but she was too boisterous around kids. She had been jumping and nipping at Tadhg and mom and dad weren't able to leave her alone with the kids. After a soul searching weekend, mom and dad decided to bring her back to her breeder where she can find a more suitable home. The breeder had already found a new home for her.

It was great to have Nase as everyone realised how much work it will be to have a puppy and how important it is to have the right dog to suit our family.
