Tadhg visits Petrin Hill

On Thursday, Tadhg went on a play date with his friend Sara to Petrin hill. Tadhg had never been to Petrin before so really enjoyed the funicular train to get to the top of the hill. There are lots of things to do at the top of the hill but Tadhg just enjoyed running around the monastery rose gardens.
When Tadhg started to tire from his run, everyone went to the house of mirrors and had great fun seeing themselves with big heads, long bodies and huge legs! Tadhg and Sara couldn't stop laughing.

After a busy day, Tadhg, mom and dad went to their favourite railway restaurant (Vytopna) for dinner and train fun.

Tadhg's trip to Brno

On Friday evening, Tadhg, mom and dad took the train to Brno for a weekend away. The main reason for the trip was to visit the Dino park but it was also a chance for the family to see Brno for the first (and possibly last!) time. Tadhg enjoyed the train ride from Prague and was excited to stay in a hotel room (after mom and dad had sorted out a mix-up with the room).

On Saturday, everyone was up early for the short train ride to the town where Dino park is. After paying in to the small zoo, they had to take a Zoo train to get to the Dino park. After passing under the Jurassic Park like gates, everyone realised this was a much larger Dino park than the one they had visited in Plzen. Tadhg was a bit nervous of the loud animal roars and the moving dinosaurs, so after a relatively short visit they decided to get the train back to the normal zoo.

The small zoo was "unusual" and did not have the zoo animals mom and dad expected. There were some exotic animals like emus and ostriches but the majority of the zoo was filled with farmyard animals and dad's favourite exhibit was a tabby cat in an enclosure with a sofa and TV!

Tadhg enjoyed the zoo animals more than the dinosaurs and was happy to get down and dirty with the goats, sheep, pigs and cows.

On Sunday the family wandered around the town of Brno to see the sites. Tadhg especially enjoyed the crocodile hung from the ceiling of a little walkway under the old town hall.

After a fun weekend away, everyone was happy to take the train home to Prague. Tadhg was happy to get back home to all his toys.

Tadhg's impressionist phase

Tadhg's art has evolved from finger paint to watercolours and brush. He favours the impressionist style especially during the post-breakfast art period.

Tadhg meets a giant iron!!

Saturday was a cold and wet day in Prague. Mom and dad wanted to do something for their Saturday family day so they decided to return to railway world to see if there has been any new additions. Some new tracks were added and Tadhg enjoyed running around looking at the mini trains, houses and people as always.

On the way out, Tadhg and fam stopped to check out an exhibition by Persil showing giant versions of household items, i.e. washing machines, vacuum cleaners, etc. Tadhg was amazed at the giant iron and wondered what size shirts would be ironed with it!

Tadhg is home (and taller!)

After almost an entire month of vacation in Canada and Ireland, Tadhg finally arrived back home to Prague on Sunday evening. Tadhg was delighted to be back home and ran around the apartment discovering all his toys and stuffed friends once again while mom and dad dragged in the luggage and unpacked.
The apartment must seem a bit smaller to Tadhg now as when he measured himself against his height chart he has grown almost 2 centimetres!
