Tadhg visits his Irish family

On Saturday, Tadhg, mom and dad drove to Uncle Eddie's house to meet Tadhg's Irish family. Tadhg was excited to see his cousin Kyle again and to meet with his Uncle, Aunt and Grandparents.
Tadhg enjoyed playing in Kyle's baby gym and his baby car and loved talking and playing to his baby cousin. Tadhg love all his cousins and is always excited to see them. It will be fun when Kyle is older and the two boys can run around and play together.

After a busy day visiting with family, Tadhg, mom and dad went back to Jamie and Millie's house to rest before their trip home to Prague.

Tadhg flies back to Europe

On Thursday Tadhg said goodbye to everyone in Canada in preparation for his return journey to Europe. Tadhg, mom and dad went to Tadhg's cousins' house in the morning for a final swim. Auntie Kay and Auntie Barb jumped in the pool as well to mark the special occasion. After wishing everyone farewell, Uncle Mitch drove Tadhg, mom and dad to Toronto where they made a quick trip to Auntie Mira's house to say hello and then finally arrived at the airport where they bade a final farewell to Uncle Mitch and checked in for their long flight to Dublin.
Tadhg had a great flight and slept for almost the entire journey. Mom and dad had to wake him up for the landing in Dublin! The family rented a car and made their way through Dublin traffic to Jamie and Millie's house where they would spend the weekend.

Tadhg visits the Zooz!

On Tadhg's last Tuesday in Canada, he went for an early morning trip with mom, dad, Baba and his cousins to Zooz Niagara. Zooz is a safari park with lot's of different animals and a great water playground for kids. First, Tadhg splashed about with his cousins in the water park and then when he had dried off he went for a spin around the park in the Zooz train.

Tadhg was especially keen on seeing a moose as he has never seen one before. A large moose was soon spotted wisely sheltering under a tree from the hot sun. Tadhg had a great visit and left with a toy snake from the gift shop courtesy of Baba.

Tadhg and dad took the opportunity to get some pool practice in Baba and Papa's basement. Tadhg had an unusual grip and cueing action but managed to pot a few balls. In a few years he'll be taking on Minnesota Fats!

Tadhg as Ned Kelly!

While staying in his grandparents house, Tadhg likes to help his Papa in the garden and especially likes to feed the birds. After emptying the breadcrumbs from the bucket Tadhg likes to put the bucket on his head and run around the garden (obviously in honour of the late Australian bandit Ned Kelly!).

Tadhg the Jedi knight

On Wednesday Tadhg borrowed a black cape and a light sabre from his cousin Riley, and became a Jedi knight! After getting kitted out in his Jedi outfit, Tadhg went to his Auntie Kay's house at the lake to meet up with the rest of his family and his mom's Kum Bob and Kuma Joanne.

Tadhg didn't take his cloak off for the whole day and loved running around waving his sabre. When he needed to recharge his batteries, he filled up with Baba's apple strudel.

After a busy day being a Jedi, Tadhg relaxed on the grass with his Uncle Mitch and looked out onto the peaceful lake. The force was strong in this little knight!

Tadhg's first Dairy Queen

On Monday Tadhg (and dad) had his first ever Dairy Queen. Tadhg enjoyed his chocolate blizzard but found the portion a bit big and had bundles of energy for the rest of the day!

Tadhg has a family breakfast

On Sunday morning, Tadhg went for a traditional Canadian breakfast with all of his cousins, baba, papa, mom and dad. Tadhg enjoyed having breakfast with all his family and especially liked the lollipop at the end!

Tadhg's mom and dad watch Man U!

On Friday Manchester United (Tadhg's family's favourite football team) kicked off their pre-season tour in the Rogers Centre in Toronto against Glasgow Celtic. Tadhg's mom and dad booked a room in the Rogers Centre hotel and went to the game with Auntie Kay, Uncle Mitch and mom's friend Beth. They had an amazing view of the pitch and enjoyed the win for Man U!

Tadhg stayed home with baba and papa and heard all about the game the next day.

Tadhg visits the Port Dalhousie Carousel

On Tuesday Tadhg, baba, mom and dad took a trip to the coastal town of Port Dalhousie near St. Catharines. The town is famous for the historical carousel which was built in 1905 and still costs only 5c for a ride. Tadhg enjoyed watching the carousel with it's horses, camels and lions spinning around but thought it was bit too loud for him to actually get on for a spin.

Tadhg's mom and dad were looking at houses near Port Dalhousie and like this area so Tadhg may have many more opportunities to ride the carousel in the future.

Tadhg swims again!

Tadhg's cousins have a new swimming pool in their back garden which Tadhg was very keen to try out for the first time on this trip. Tadhg was very comfortable in the water (especially when wearing his water wings) and loved splashing about with his cousins (and mom and dad). Tadhg hasn't swam much in Prague so it was great for him to be able to get back into his swimming practice.

When the water got too cold, Tadhg happily hopped out and into the new hot tub beside the pool!

Tadhg tries out his mom's old playground

On Wednesday, Tadhg's mom arranged to meet her friend Nancy and her two boys (Lucas and Adam) at the playground close to Tadhg's baba's house. Tadhg's mom used to play here when she was a toddler although it has been upgraded since then. Tadhg enjoyed playing in the hot, hot sun and was especially fond of the tall, twirling slide that he had to climb a huge ladder to get in to.

Tadhg plays "soccer"

On Tuesday evening, Tadhg went to the local "soccer" pitches to see his cousin Nicholas play a match. Nicholas' team won but Tadhg was more interested in playing soccer on one of the spare pitches with his other cousins Mikaela, Ehrin and Luka. Tadhg calls the game football but in North America his cousin's told him to call the game soccer. Despite this confusion, Tadhg had a super time running around the soccer piches and was tired when he eventually got home to bed.

Tadhg has quickly got used to the new time zone and is already sleeping most of the night (apart from the occassional wakeup).

Tadhg flies to Canada

On Monday Tadhg, mom and dad flew to Canada after a whirlwind trip to Ireland. The 7.5 hour flight seemed to go very quickly and Tadhg was great as usual having his nap and entertaining himself for the rest of the trip. Auntie Kay and baba were there to greet the family and take them on to baba's house.

Tadhg was a bit shy initially but was soon chatting away to his baba and Auntie Kay. Tadhg was excited to see his Canadian family again and stayed up until almost his normal bedtime despite the time difference. He was very tired when he eventually got to bed and was happy to snuggle up with his blue bear for a well deserved rest.

Tadhg meets cousin Kyle

On Sunday Tadhg, mom and dad went to Uncle Eddie and Aunt Maria's house to meet Tadhg's new cousin Kyle for the first time. Kyle is still a "teeny-tiny-baby" (in Tadhg speak) so was mainly interested in eating and sleeping. Tadhg was excited to see Kyle for about the first 5 minutes and then was more interested in the presents from his Irish family (lot`s of Buzz Lightyear stuff!!). Tadhg had his first ever jam tart for lunch and liked it so much it ended all over his face!

Tadhg's grandparents arrived also so the whole family decided to go to Avoca cafe for dinner. Tadhg was thrilled to see a scooter on the shop floor and was more intested in zooming around on that than visiting with his family and eating dinner. Eventually it was time to go home. After a kiss for Kyle and a wave bye-bye to his Uncle, Aunt and Grandparents, Tadhg went back to his Irish holiday home to sleep and prepare for the big trip to Canada on Monday.

Tadhg's summer holidays begin!

On Saturday morning, Tadhg, mom and dad finished packing their bags and were ready for the first leg of their trip. Tadhg had his own travel suitcase which he only wanted to fill with toys, books and his superman pyjamas! Mom convinced him that he might need some more things for his holiday so he added some more clothes. Tadhg was super excited getting into the taxi to take the family to the airport and jumped into his car seat.

The flight from Prague to Dublin went very quickly and Tadhg managed to get a quick nap in. They arrived in Dublin earlier than planned and after picking up their rental car, the family were able to retire to Clontarf Castle pub to watch the second half of the Germany v Argentina world cup quarter final. Tadhg, mom and dad were surprised to see Germany win so easily.

After the game Tadhg visited with his old baby buddy, Lochlann, while the mom's and dad's caught up. After a great start to their summer holidays, Tadhg, mom and dad made their way to Sheena and Lou's place where they planned to spend the next couple of days. Tadhg was thrilled to see all the toys he could play with but soon made his way to bed after a busy, busy day.

Tadhg gets ready for his trip

On Friday, Tadhg, mom and dad prepared for their upcoming holiday. While mom and dad packed their bags, Tadhg tested out his car seat to make sure he still fits into it. Initially Tadhg was too big for it so dad had to make some adjustments for Tadhg to fit in (he's getting so big!). Tadhg was excited about his holiday plans and couldn't wait to get started.
