Tadhg gets a trampoline of his own!

Ever since Tadhg tried the trampoline at the Charles Square fun fair, he has regularly asked to "go to the trampoline". The fun fair has long since closed so mom and dad researched trampolines for kids and decided to get one for Tadhg (they hope it will help burn off some of his toddler energy!).

On Sunday the family went into town to pick up a trampoline in a local sports shop. Tadhg gave it the thumbs up after trying it out in the shop. As soon as it was unpacked and setup at home, Tadhg was bouncing, bouncing, bouncing (in fact he was sitting on it as dad assembled it!). He didn't want to stop and had to be carried away to have his lunch.

Kyle is born!!!

On Monday evening Tadhg's new cousin, Kyle, was born!! Tadhg's Uncle Eddie and Auntie Maria were so happy to have their new little man. Tadhg, mom and dad were very excited at the news and can't wait to meet the new member of their family.

There are no photos of Kyle to share yet, so mom and dad were looking through pictures of when Tadhg was a teeny-tiny baby and are amazed that their active little toddler grew out of such a little baby! This picture is from when Tadhg was 2 weeks old!

Tadhg feeds some goats

On Saturday, Tadhg mom and dad made use of their annual passes and returned to the zoo. Tadhg wanted to see the goats so the family made their way to the kid's zoo first where Tadhg was able to hop into the enclosure and feed the baby goats. Tadhg loved petting the little goats and having them eat out of his hand.

Afterwards Tadhg wanted to see the lions and tigers so they went to the big cat enclosure. Unfortunately, it was just after feeding time so the big cats were only interested in snoozing in the sun and sleeping off their lunches!

Tadhg's first rock concert

On Thursday night one of Tadhg's mom's favourite bands, Pavement, performed a show in Prague. Tadhg's mom is a friend of the band so she and Tadhg went along during the day to see the sound check and meet the band. Tadhg enjoyed being in the club but thought the music was "too loud".

Tadhg, mom and dad went out with the band and crew for dinner at one of Tadhg's favourite restaurants, Aromi. After dinner Tadhg went home to bed while mom and dad met up with their friends Joseph, Jill and Dave to see the show.

Tadhg visits a fun fair

Tadhg, mom and dad took a tram into town on Sunday morning and saw a fun fair setting up in Karlovo Namesti (Charles Square). Tadhg was very interested in the colourful attractions so after lunch and a nap, the family decided to visit the fair. Mom and dad were not very impressed with the tacky rides, but Tadhg was amazed and dying to have a go. He first tried the merry-go-round which had bikes and cars screwed onto it! Tadhg loved it and wanted another go...and another....and another.

After he was prised off the screwed down tractor, Tadhg hopped on a kid's train which was a bit scarier as he had to sit all by himself. After this, Tadhg met his friend Nicklas from school and they both wanted to try the trampoline. The two boys had a great time jumping together in the trampoline despite an initial head-bump. They especially loved diving onto the bouncy surface and then feeling the vibrations as the other one bounced.

The weather was still cold and wet so it was nice to be able to do some outdoors activities for a change. (Mom and dad only took videos of the funfair so the photo quality is not the usual Tadhg's World quality)

Tadhg's love of art

Since his first attempts at art, Tadhg has grown to love painting. Although his love is more based on getting his hands and fingers into the squishy paint rather than the output! On Saturday morning, after the usual early morning wake-up and breakfast, Tadhg felt an urge to paint and so he and dad spent a messy hour on their "painting blanket". Tadhg loves to squeeze the paint out of the tubes and has come a long way since his first nervous tip-toe into painting.

Tadhg celebrates mother's day with trains

Tadhg woke up early (as usual!) on Sunday morning and prepared his present and card for mom for mother's day. Tadhg insisted on putting some chocolate hearts in mom's gift bag and really enjoyed helping mom eat them once he had given her her present.

Tadhg decided to celebrate mother's day in Tadhg's favourite train restaurant, Vytopna, where trains criss-cross across the entire restaurant bring drinks to the tables. Tadhg had a great time as always and was sad to leave.

Mom enjoyed her mother's day seeing her little man so happy!

Tadhg meets some giraffes

In Tadhg's many previous visits to the Prague Zoo he had not visited the safari park where the giraffes, zebras, ostriches and many antelope wander on a wide open plain. The safari park is on the far side of the zoo to the entrance and so is a long walk, mainly uphill! On Saturday morning, mom, dad and Tadhg decided to finally go to see the giraffes and so left home early to take the metro and bus to the zoo. They arrived soon after 8am and the zoo was already busy.

On the way to the safari park, Tadhg spotted a horse statue and quickly jumped on the back of the mommy horse.

The next field contained a pack of llamas who ran around the field in a closely knit group looking like a group of posh ladies out for a stroll.

When they finally made it to the safari park, Tadhg wasn't overly impressed with the giraffes and wanted to see where the zebras were (they were wandering around in the zebra house and didn't come outside).

The greatest fun of all was pressing the buttons at the various enclosures which emitted animal sounds. Tadhg spent a long time pressing the snowy owl button (which seemed to confuse the poor snowy owl inside) and the leopard button.

After a hectic morning at the zoo where Tadhg saw more animals then ever before, the family had lunch at the nice, new Zoo cafe before taking the bus home. Tadhg was exhausted and tried to fall asleep on the bus but mom and dad kept him awake until he was back in his own bed.
