The weather has been warm and sunny so on Saturday Tadhg, mom and dad went shopping in Debenhams and bought Tadhg his first pair of sunglasses. Tadhg quite fancied a pink pair but mom and dad thought a white pair would be more suitable.
Tadhg is doing really well with his potty training and has recently started to use his special seat for the "big potty". Tadhg is wearing his big boy pants more and more often now. Mom and dad are so proud to see their little guy doing so well and can hardly believe they may be coming to the end of nappies/diapers!
Tadhg's class had their Carnival party on Tuesday. Tadhg excitedly got dressed up in his cowboy outfit in the morning and was keen to see what the other kids went as. There was a little Indian, a Superman, a Batman, another Cowboy, a bumble bee, a flower, and more than a few fairy Princesses. The kid's seemed to have a great Tadhg and the teachers were kind enough to take photos to share with the parents.
Next Tuesday, February 16th is variously known as shrove Tuesday, fat Tuesday, pancake Tuesday and Mardi Gras. Prague has recently celebrated this pre-Lent festival with a carnival. Tadhg's school planned a 'carnival' celebration for the kids on Tuesday, so Tadhg had to get a costume to wear. Mom and dad considered using the Peter Pan outfit again but in the end decided to get a new cowboy outfit.
Tadhg was very excited when he saw the cowboy hat and sheriff waistcoat. He immediately donned the outfit and ran around the house 'yee-haw'ing. Tadhg even picked up his little brown horse from his Old McDonald tractor to take as his cowboy horse. Tadhg can't wait for the carnival celebration now!
The bears obviously loved the cold weather and enjoyed sliding down the ice and diving into the water. Tadhg (and mom and dad) were amazed to see such large and powerful animals up close.
With some help from mom, Tadhg made a special Valentine's day for dad. Mom printed the card with a touching rhyme which Tadhg decorated with some Valentine's stickers. Tadhg loves anything to do with stickers and is happy to stick them on anything. Dad was very touched to receive such a personalised card.
Tadhg's hair was getting a bit wild and unruly so mom and dad decided it was time for another haircut (only Tadhg's second ever!). Mom booked Tadhg's "regular" hairdresser, Mark, for Saturday and the whole family went down for the big event. Mom and dad had the process perfected with Tadhg sitting on mom's lap for the haircut while dad kept Tadhg entertained with videos on the laptop.
Tadhg was still feeling poorly on Wednesday and dad had also picked up the bug and had to take a few days off work. Mom and dad had bought some re-hydrating Mr Freeze bars in Canada and decided it was time to try them out. Tadhg wasn't sure about them at first as they were very cold, but once dad had one too, and Tadhg put on a glove, Tadhg was very happy to try the new cold sensation. Mom and dad were happy that Tadhg was at least taking some fluids on board.
