Tadhg's trip to the Krkonose mountains

Tadhg visited the Harrachov ski resort in the Krkonose mountain range at the weekend and had his first tobogganing experience. He enjoyed sliding down the hills but didn't let go of his new snack trap!

Tadhg hosts his playgroup

Tadhg hosted his playgroup buddies on Wednesday. Four mums arrived with 5 other babies so Tadhg's play areas were packed. Tadhg has not been very social since his recent illness so it was good to have a group meeting at home.

Tadhg also enjoys wearing the hat (tuque in Canadian) from his cousins' school in Canada.

Tadhg reaches 82cm height!

Tadhg has gone through a real growth spurt since December and has averaged 2cm growth each month. He's now over 82cm tall (over 32 inches). He'll be onto the next stage in clothes pretty soon.

Tadhg feels poorly

Tadhg picked up a tummy bug on Thursday and spent most of the night throwing up (Mommy and Daddy took shifts to watch him through the night). The poor little guy was poorly for most of the weekend and only started to feel like his normal self on Sunday.

Tadhg needed lots of TLC from Mommy and Daddy to help him through. It was strange to see him so lacking in energy compared to his normal racing around the house.

Tadhg's expanding vocabulary

Tadhg's vocabulary is expanding every week and he is always keen to practice his new words. His most popular words right now are:

• "That" - this is his most frequently used word and is generally accompanied with a pointing finger and, more often than not, a questioning tone.
• "This" - used interchangeably with "That"
  
• "Duck" - surprisingly this is Tadhg's next most spoken word and is used during bath time, during meals (there are a couple of duck's in his bowl) and during general play/reading as any duck, or duck like creature, is spotted
  
• "Dog" - Pijanka is "Dog", also every dog we pass when outside is pointed out as "Dog". Cats are often referred to as "Dog" as well so pretty much any 4 legged animal will do.
  
• "Hot" - generally used when touching a hot radiator or even hotter oven
• "Hat" - often used when trying to pull off Mammy's hat
• "Eye" - a popular word when trying to poke Daddy in the eye
  

Despite repeated use by his parents, Tadhg doesn't seem interested in saying "Mommy" or "Daddy" yet.

Tadhg runs around the Franciscan gardens

Tadhg enjoyed a run around the beautiful Franciscan Monastery gardens today. These wonderful gardens are a little oasis of calm hidden in the very centre of Prague. Tadhg liked running along the cobbled paths between the hedges, on a surprisingly mild winter's day.

Now Tadhg is so good at walking (and running!), he loves stretching his legs when we're out and about. We'll need to get some reins for him soon....

Tadhg's trip to the tropical garden

Tadhg visited the Charles University Botanical gardens today. He loved the warm temperatures in the tropical plants room and enjoyed running along the paths and around the tropical fish pool. He only stood still for one photograph. In every other photo, he showed a clean pair of heels racing ahead of his dad.
